Another crypto miner shut down in Kyrgyzstan
AKIPRESS.COM – The State National Security Committee of the Kyrgyz Republic detected and stopped the illegal activities of a crypto mining facility in the Issyk-Kul region on June 1, which caused enormous damage to Kyrgyzstan’s power grids.
During the investigation, a large foreign owned mining firm was detected on the territory of the cement plant of Kurmentitsement.
According to preliminary data, Kurmentitsement illegally provided electricity and water supply for the activities of the mining farm.
As part of criminal probe, about 2,000 pieces of equipment for mining were seized.
Currently, GKNB said it continues battle against all persons involved in the unlawful activities.
